CCST Appoints New Members to Council


Jean-Louis Gassée joined Allegis Capital as a partner in April 2003, bringing more than 30 years of high-technology experience to the firm. Prior to this, he headed up Be, Inc., which developed the Be operating system (Be OS) to provide multimedia software for appliances to deliver information, entertainment and interactivity over the Web. Prior to this, Gassée spent nine years at Apple Computer.




Milton A. Gordon is a lifelong educator who, since becoming president in August 1990, has led California State University, Fullerton into prominence as one of the nation's largest and most inclusive senior institutions of higher learning. His academic background includes serving as vice president for Academic Affairs and professor of Mathematics at Sonoma State University; dean in the College of Arts and Sciences, Chicago State University and director of the Afro-American Studies Program at Loyola University of Chicago.


Ginger L. Graham is president and chief executive officer of Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing innovative medicines to improve the lives of people with diabetes and other metabolic diseases. She is the former group chairman, Office of the President, for Guidant Corporation and was president and CEO of Advanced Cardiovascular Systems and, with the creation of Guidant in 1994, she became president of the Vascular Intervention business group.


M.R.C. Greenwood is provost and senior vice president for academic affairs for the 10-campus University of California system. She previously served as chancellor of UC Santa Cruz. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, she also holds a UC Santa Cruz appointment as professor of biology. Prior to her UC Santa Cruz appointments, Greenwood served as dean of graduate studies, and vice provost for academic outreach, at UC Davis. In addition, she served as associate director for science in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Dr. Greenwood is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.


Andrew J. Viterbi currently serves as president of the Viterbi Group, LLC, a company founded in 2000, which advises and invests in startup companies, predominantly in wireless communications, network infrastructure and imaging. In 1985, Viterbi co-founded QUALCOMM Incorporated, where he served as vice chairman until 2000 and as chief technical officer until 1996. He is a fellow of the IEEE, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
