Peg Cagle
Lawrence Gifted/ Highly Gifted Magnet, Los Angeles Unified School District, 8th Grade Mathematics Teacher

Cagle currently teaches eighth grade honors algebra, honors geometry, and French at Lawrence Gifted/Highly Gifted Magnet in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She is National Board Certified in Early Adolescent Mathematics. Cagle’s honors include the Los Angeles City Teachers of Mathematics Association Excellence in the Classroom Award (2003); the Raytheon Math Hero Award (2006); LAUSD Teacher of the Year (2008); the USA Today All-USA Teacher Team (2007); and the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math & Science Teaching.


Diana Herrington
Clovis High School, Mathematics Teacher

Herrington is a mathematics teacher at Clovis High School. She received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching in 1999, and was also a finalist for the award in 1993 and 1998. Other awards include the College Teacher of the Year for Clovis High School (2000); Teacher of the Year for the Clovis Unified School District (1996); American Electronics Association Outstanding Educator (1998); and the CSU Fresno College of Engineering and Computer Science Math and Science Excellence in Education Award (2000).


Jeffrey Foote
Kermit McKenzie Jr. High, Guadalupe Union School District, All Subject 6th Grade

Jeff Foote is a teacher at Kermit Mckenzie Jr. High in the Guadalupe School District. His B.A. in Spanish has served well in this small district with a very high percentage of Spanish speakers. His M.A. is in Educational Administration, but classroom teaching is his love. He has been in a variety of leadearship roles in National Science Foundation partnerships, as well as regional and state level technology projects. His main activities presently are as a co-director of the Central Coast Science Project at Cal Poly, SLO, an ‘e-mentor’ with E-Mentoring for Student Success, 'SCALE', a pilot project with UC Santa Barbara & US Fish & Wildlife using GIS and 'spatial learning' through environmental studies.
